Our Principal & Founder, Ms. Anushkaa Arora, who also serves as Senior Panel Counsel for the Union of India, effectively highlighted the operational difficulties faced by the Railways due to repeated extensions of catering stall licenses—hindering the initiation of fresh tender processes.

Taking cognizance of the submissions made, the Hon’ble Court observed:

“Extension of license will not preclude Railways from inviting fresh tenders after expiry.”

This crucial observation ensures that while individual license extensions may be granted on parity, they will not obstruct the Railways’ broader public interest and procedural fairness.

The matter was further aligned with the legal precedent laid down in Ved Prakash Mishra v. Union of India and the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, upholding both legal consistency and administrative clarity.
