Delhi High Court Grants Interim Bail to Convict Under Section 302 IPC

The Delhi High Court today granted interim bail to a convict under Section 302 IPC for a period of two weeks on the ground of attending a peliya function/ pregnancy of sister.

The petitioner sought interim bail citing customary obligations and family responsibilities, emphasizing that the peliya ceremony is a significant traditional function within his community. Additionally, it was contended that the petitioner had not misused liberty during previous bail periods and had surrendered on time on all previous occasions. The petitioner’s conduct in jail was also noted to be satisfactory.

The bail application was drafted by Ms. Anushkaa Arora, DHCLSC, and argued by Mr. Abhinav Bajaj, DHCLSC before the Hon’ble Court.
