Eye injury due to loose bolt in train: NCDRC reduces compensation for man from ₹10 lakh to ₹3.2 lakh | Bar and Bench

The Hon’ble National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission (NCDRC) was pleased to allow Appeal filed by Railways/ Union of India challenging the order of Ld State Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission (‘SCDRC’) wherein the Ld SCDRC had overstepped its pecuniary jurisdiction by awarding compensation at a very higher side than what is prescribed in the Railway Rules for compensation of loss of one eye.

The appeal was argued & drafted by Ms Anushkaa Arora, Senior Panel Counsel of the Union of India.
