S. 124 of the Railways Act has an overriding effect vis-a-vis compensation payable as provided under the Railway Accident and Untoward Incidents Rules: NCDRC | SCC Online

The Hon’ble National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission (NCDRC) was pleased to partly allow Appeal filed by Railways/ Union of India challenging the order of Ld State Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission (‘SCDRC’) wherein the Ld SCDRC had overstepped its pecuniary jurisdiction by awarding compensation at a very higher side than what is prescribed in the Railway Rules for compensation of loss of one eye.

The appeal was argued & drafted by Ms Anushkaa Arora, Senior Panel Counsel of the Union of India.
