Success Stories - Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee

From Private to Sarkari Vakeel of DHCLSC

One of the success stories of Ms. Anushkaa Arora as a Jail Visiting Advocate of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee (DHCLSC) has been published on the DHCLSC website.

Ms. Arora remembers an instance and says, “I believe this is where work speaks for itself. Having faith in one advocate, especially a Sarkari Vakeel, and leaving behind a private advocate perhaps reinstates my endeavor to join Legal Aid and represent the prisoners on behalf of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee.” Read More here

This is an interesting aspect I wanted to share as a Jail Visiting Advocate. My main aim in being on this panel was to represent the marginalized and give them the best representation they can get. Legal Aid has always been my passion for more than a decade now, which I still very enthusiastically pursue and shall pursue forever.

One of the most rewarding experiences in this tenure of mine has been the satisfaction I get when clients in jail leave their Private Advocates and come to avail themselves of the services of DHCLSC. This occurs due to the fact that a) they might have heard about the goodwill surrounding the advocates of DHCLSC who are aiding in getting favorable orders, b) the work being done through them is much faster than that of Private Advocates, or c) their advice yields potential and results.
