“Streedhan property does not become the joint property of the wife and the husband, and the husband has no title or independent dominion over the property as owner.” Says Ms Arora.

In the newspaper of Business Standard, Ms Anushkaa Arora, Principal & Founder, ABA Law Office, speaks to Business Standard on the topic of Protecting streedhan as by Reinforcing married women’s right over ‘streedhan’, Hon’ble Supreme Court on Wednesday held that streedhan cannot become joint property of a couple, and a husband has no control over his wife’s assets, which he may use during times of distress but must return to her.
