Celebrating a Remarkable Milestone for Ms. Anushkaa Arora and ABA
Law Office
We are thrilled to announce that Ms. Anushkaa Arora, Principal & Founder
of ABA Law Office, has contributed a chapter to the prestigious
international book Later Life, Sex and Intimacy in the Majority World,
published by Bristol University Press.
Her insightful chapter, titled “Kinnars, Ageism, and Sexuality during the
Covid-19 Pandemic,” delves into critical conversations surrounding
gender and sexual identity in the context of India’s third-gender
community—Kinnars. At today’s intimate launch event, Ms. Arora
eloquently highlighted the relevance of the Four Puruṣārthas—Dharma
(righteousness), Artha (prosperity), Kama (pleasure), and Moksha
(liberation)—for all of humanity, transcending gender, including the often
marginalized Kinnars.
This approach set the tone for the chapter, emphasizing the need to
retain the essence of Indianness in a global discourse.
The event was graced by Mr. Ajay Bose, Director of the Dhruvbose
Foundation, and a key contributor to the book, as well as Sh. Colonel
Neeraj Arora, Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of India, Ms. Arora’s
father, making this a truly special occasion.
Congratulations to Ms. Anushkaa Arora and her research team, Ms.
Navya Prathipathi, Sr. Research Associate, ABA Law Office, for this
significant contribution to global scholarship!
